1. Gaios Town

Gaios is the charming capital and main port of Paxos, characterized by its narrow streets lined with traditional Greek houses painted in a variety of colors. The town is built around a natural harbor that becomes a bustling hub of activity in the summer. Key attractions include the Maritime Museum, where visitors can learn about the island’s naval history, and the Agios Spyridon Church, a beautiful structure with a striking bell tower.

2. Tripitos Arch

The Tripitos Arch is a spectacular natural stone arch located just outside of Gaios. It's an impressive geological formation that can be reached via a scenic walk along the coastline. The site offers breathtaking views of the sea and is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts.

3. Ortholithos

Ortholithos is a large, vertical rock that stands alone in the sea near Erimitis beach. This striking feature is best viewed from the water, and many boat tours around the island include a stop or a pass-by for a closer look. It’s particularly stunning at sunset.

4. The Olive Press Museum

Located in Magazia, this museum is housed in one of the oldest olive presses on the island. Paxos has a long history of olive oil production, and this museum offers insights into traditional methods of olive oil extraction, showcasing old machinery and tools used in the process.

5. Erimitis Bay

Erimitis Bay is known for its dramatic cliffs and the series of secluded beaches that can be found at the base. The area is also noted for its beautiful sunset views, making it a perfect spot for an evening visit. There’s a bar and restaurant overlooking the bay, where visitors can enjoy a drink while watching the sun dip below the horizon.

6. The Venetian Castle of Paxos

Located near Lakka, the ruins of a Venetian castle sit atop a hill offering panoramic views of the northern part of the island and the sea. The walk up to the castle is surrounded by ancient olive groves, adding to the enchanting experience of visiting this historical site.

7. Ypapanti Cave

Accessible only by boat, the Ypapanti Cave is one of several sea caves around Paxos that offer a thrilling exploration opportunity. Inside, the interplay of light and shadow on the cave’s walls creates a mesmerizing spectacle, with the waters glowing a deep blue.

These attractions offer a glimpse into the natural beauty and historical depth of Paxos, making it more than just a beach destination. Whether exploring ancient ruins, learning about traditional industries, or marveling at natural wonders, Paxos provides a rich and varied experience for all its visitors.
